Achievement Highlights

Upcycled Ingredients: We launched Go! Solutions Benefit Chews featuring upcycled ingredients to combat food waste.

Recyclable Packaging: All new kibble recipes were launched in recyclable bags.

Heartfelt Donations: We donated 4.6 million meals to pets in need.

Tracking Our Carbon Pawprint

We reduced Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions by 37% in 2024 from our baseline year, by reducing our office space and adopting more energy-efficient practices. We also maintained our Zero Waste status as less than 10% of our waste across all three waste categories (recycle, compost, landfill) goes to the landfill.

At Petcurean, we're committed to profoundly impacting the communities we serve. Our 25th year was defined by a spirit of volunteerism and heartfelt support for vulnerable pets and people.

Volunteering

In 2024, 47% of our team contributed their time and energy to make a lasting difference in their communities through initiatives like planting trees, adopting a senior, and making tug toys for dogs in need.

Advancing Truth and Reconciliation

Our ongoing journey included cultural briefings, making Valentine's cookies for First Nations Elders, and donating 38,500 meals of dog and cat food to First Nations communities.

Child & Forced Labour

Mitigating child labour and forced labour across our value chain is a fundamental aspect of our social responsibility. We have a range of measures in place across our operations to prevent and minimize this risk.

Awards

Christine Mallier was a finalist for the YWCA Women of Distinction Sustainability Award. Petcurean won Upcycled Dog Treat of the Year and the Pet Age Power 50 award, celebrating our impact in pet care and sustainability.

Uplifting our Community

Heartfelt Donations

Our orange hearts are driven by a deep sense of compassion, always ready to give back when communities face challenging times. Here are some of the ways we supported communities across Canada, the USA, and Europe:

• 4,638,963 meals donated to 540 rescues, shelters, and community groups

• 825 trees planted

• $1,577 donated to bee conservation

Committed to Governance

Trust in Action

Ethical leadership and transparency are paramount at Petcurean. Some new actions we took in 2024 include: • We published our 4th Annual Sustainability Impact Report, disclosing our year-over-year GHG emissions. • We implemented new training on data privacy, anti-corruption, sustainability, and child labour & forced labour. • As a proud member of the Pet Sustainability Coalition, we achieved Accreditation for the 5th consecutive year. • Our Customer Care Team received a CSAT score of 84, reflecting our dedication to excellent service.

These actions helps to becoming ever more accountable, transparent, and ethical in the way we work.

Progress in our sustainability efforts comes in all shapes and sizes, from Great Dane-sized projects to tiny kitten initiatives. Regardless of the challenges, we can assure you that we’re motivated and passionate about doing better and being better.

We’re Making the Switch

Here’s some news that’s giving us all the zoomies. Petcurean is one of the first five companies to sign the Pet Sustainability Coalition’s Packaging Pledge. That means we’ve made the commitment to switch to recyclable packaging by 2025.
